Spicy Bruschetta

Following up on my post about SRIRACHA-GLAZED BACON, we recently enjoyed some Spicy Bruschetta, that contained what else?  Sriracha Sauce.  Oh yeah, and some chopped jalapeno.  Most of the time bruschetta seems to use only Italian flavors.  We LOVED this version because the cilantro, red onion and jalapeno gave it a Mexican flair.  I bought a package that contained two loaves of Italian-style bread and this recipe actually made enough topping to cover two loaves.  I refrigerated the leftover topping and we enjoyed this snack two different nights.  With the Super Bowl right around the corner, you'll want a new and different appetizer for the big game.  Here ya go!

A fun twist on an old favorite.
Just in time for Super Bowl Snacking!

Sriracha Glazed Bacon

One of the reasons I chose the name The Devilish Dish for my blog is we love spicy stuff around here.  We have two pantries and one of them is FULL of spices and chile powders.  The door of the fridge in our garage is full of nothing but bottles of hot sauce.  So you could say we are spicy food junkies.  We put Sriracha Sauce on just about everything.  If you aren't familiar with Sriracha, it's an Asian chili sauce made from a paste of chile peppers, vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt.  It's named for the coastal city of Si Racha in Thailand.  It's bottle is famously recognizable, with it's trademark rooster and bright green lid.  Don't just limit it spicing up just Asian foods though.  It's great on french fries, scrambled eggs, pizza and just about anything else you can think of!  We love it around here.  Devilish Nephew puts it on EVERYTHING.  And I mean EVERYTHING.  And Mr. DD, he does too.  He loves the sauce so much, he even got Sriracha Socks for Christmas. Now that's some Sriracha Love!  You can only imagine what a big hit this bacon was.  The combination of the spicy sauce with the brown sugar and just a touch of cinnamon was the ultimate pairing with thick, salty bacon.  Whether you serve this with breakfast, make it for the Man Cave Superbowl Snack, or just eat it like candy, I promise it will be a spicy hit!
It's like Spicy, Sweet, Salty Man Candy!
Place the bacon slices on a wire rack.  Brush with
Sriracha Sauce mixture.
Continue glazing and baking on both sides
until crisp.
Sriracha Sauce can be found on the Asian aisle
in most supermarkets.
For breakfast, sandwiches or a snack!
You'll love Sriracha Glazed Bacon so much,
you'll want to wear Sriracha Socks!

Slow Cooker Spicy Southwest Chicken Spaghetti

My Crock Pot is my BFF.  I love to use it year round.  I love it on days when I'm gone from the house, and want to come home to a prepared dinner.  I love it when I'm home all day and I'm busy and don't want to baby sit dinner.  I love to use my Crock Pot in the summer.  The kitchen stays cool, and Mr. Devilish Dish and I can come home from the golf course or baseball game to a delicious meal waiting for us! But nothing beats using it during the winter for a hearty warm meal.  It's my theory that Velveeta and R0*Tel make anything tasty.  Turns out it's just as good in this spaghetti meal as it is with tortilla chips!
Warm, hearty and ONE POT easy!
The Line-Up
(Couldn't be easier, just throw it all together!)
Combine all of the ingredients together.
Add cooked, drained spaghetti.
Stir well and cook in slow cooker
on LOW for about 4 hours.
Enjoy!
