Oven Roasted Asparagus with Roasted Garlic and Sea Salt

Spring is here and the asparagus is both inexpensive and abundant.  While there is nothing grosser in the whole world than canned asparagus, there is nothing more elegant and delicious than fresh asparagus.  It's a very simple side dish, than can be prepared many ways.  It's a great accompaniment to any entree, and you are sure to wow your guests with this chic but effortless preparation.

Oven Roasted Asparagus with Roasted Garlic and Sea Salt


2 bundles fresh asparagus, washed and ends cut off
2 tablespoons good quality olive oil
1-2 teaspoons dried roasted garlic seasoning (I used Penzey's )
1/2-1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (I used Maldon)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Spread asparagus on a foil-lined baking sheet.  Drizzle olive oil over asparagus.  Toss to make sure each stalk is well coated.  Generously sprinkle with the dried roasted garlic seasoning.  Bake approximately 25 minutes until asparagus is roasted, but still crunchy and bright green.  Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and serve immediately.

Prep Time:  Approximately 10 minutes     Cook Time:  Approximately 25 minutes
