Chip Chip Hooray It's Father's Day

I've been so busy I haven't even had the chance to blog about Mother's Day and now Father's Day is already here.  For Mother's Day we had a Popcorn Bar and it was such a hit.  (Pictures coming soon) I thought that something similar would be fun for Father's Day but I wanted to change it up a bit.  So we are having a Salsa Bar!  (I'll have to post pictures for that later too) Keeping with the Salsa theme, I decided to gift the dads with a jar of homemade salsa and a bag of tortilla chips.  Perfect for snacking in their recliners on their special day.  Of course I can't just give them a jar of salsa and a bag of chips.  It has to be "cuted up" somehow.  I came up with the silly saying, "Chip Chip Hooray, Happy Father's Day."  Of course it's corny.  But nothing goes better with salsa than corny corn chips.   I'm making a quadruple batch of my Chimayo Salsa.  We'll have some to eat at the Salsa Bar, and some is going into jars for the dads.  If you haven't made this before, now is your chance.  It's a simple recipe, but full of smoky chimayo pepper flavor.  It keeps great in the fridge and tastes even better when you make it the night before.  I'll do both a Mother's Day post with the Popcorn Bar and a Father's Day post with pictures from this weekend's Salsa Bar, but I wanted to share this one with you early in case you wanted to whip up a jar of salsa for dad.  I've included some free printable tags for you too.  That way you'll be saying "Chip Chip Hooray" too!

Here's what each Dad is getting.
A gift bag with the cute little
tag.  A bag of chips and a jar
of homemade Chimayo Salsa inside!

Here's a copy of the tag ready for you to print.

Right click and save to your computer.
Open with the software of your choice
and print onto cardstock.
Here's a version with two tags per page.
In case you have two dads!
These images are my exclusive artwork.
Please be courteous when using these printables
and remember they are for personal use only.
In addition to Chimayo Salsa at the Salsa Bar,
we'll also be having my famous homemade
Mexican Restaurant Relish.
You can find the recipe HERE.

I hate to put Mr. Devilish Dish to work
on his special day, but we can't have a
Salsa Bar without his famous guacamole.
You can find that recipe HERE.

I'm also planning to have a Salsa Verde too.  It's a new recipe that I will be sharing with you soon.  Little Devil requested that.  I'm so excited about the Salsa Bar that I've already got the table set.  And the bags of chips purchased.  Let's just say the guy ringing me up at the grocery store thought it was a little strange the I was buying 8 bags of chips.  I didn't tell him why.  I just said, "We REALLY like chips."  If you don't have time to whip up a batch of homemade salsa for dad, grab a jar of your favorite store bought salsa.  There's nothing wrong with that.  Every area has some great locally made salsas that are very tasty.  Check out places like your Farmer's Market for some great homemade products too!

Stay tuned for my upcoming Salsa Bar post and here's wishing a Happy Early Father's Day to all the dads out there.  Grandpas, Uncles, Brothers and Moms who have to fill that role count too!  Have a lovely day and eat all the chips and salsa you want.  Calories don't count on your special day!
