Chicken Parmesan Sliders- It's National Sandwich Day!

It's National Sandwich Day, and there is no easier way to celebrate, than with a pan of hot, bubbling slider sandwiches, perfect for sharing.  I make all kinds of slider recipes.  They are hearty, easy to make and share, and a crowd pleaser for tailgates and watch parties.  I've made Barbecue Beef & Cheddar Sliders (my fave) as well as Ham & Swiss Sliders, and French Dip Sliders.  All of these go together quickly with a package of Hawaiian rolls and deli meats and cheeses.  Usually they have some kind of melted butter topping brushed on before they go into the oven.  When I made these for Mr. Devilish Dish he said, "I think these are my favorite of all of the sliders you've made.  The topping really adds the flavor of the sandwich.  It isn't too dominating and it compliments the Italian ingredients really well."  There you have it, the highest form of praise from my husband who critiqued my sliders.  That being said it truly is high praise because he can be skeptical of recipes that are quick and easy.  He would rather spend hours tending a smoker.  I on the other hand, am a fan of chicken tenders (which these contain) and a quick and easy clean up in the kitchen.  These hot and tasty sliders check all of those boxes.  A quick and easy weeknight meal, or a crowd pleaser for your next get together!

Hot, hearty and so easy to prepare!

Ready to pop in the oven.

Check out the golden brown top.

The garlic butter topping really adds
to the flavor of these sliders.

Saucy, cheesy goodness...

CHICKEN PARMESAN SLIDERS

1 package Hawaiian rolls
6 large frozen chicken tenders, cooked and cut in half
1/2 jar marinara sauce
6 slices Provolone cheese
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.  Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.  Cut the slab of rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half into the prepared pan.  Top the bottom buns with the slices of Provolone cheese, followed by the chicken tender pieces.  Carefully and generously spoon the marinara sauce over the chicken tenders.  Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese.  Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.  Remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown.  Remove from oven.  Top with more grated Parmesan cheese if desired.  Slice and serve.
